Dear Books; It’s Not You, It’s Me.

Dear Books,

I know you’re wondering why I keep picking you up and putting you down again. You’re wondering where I am and what I’m doing when I’m not with you. You’re starting to wonder whether I am rethinking our relationship. Last night you saw me with another book, and I think it’s time that we talk.

I have been reading other books.

It’s nothing that you’ve done wrong, you’re not about to be put back on the TBR pile. I just really need to work on myself right now, and I’m a very emotional reader – I’ve tried, but I just can’t stick to only one book at a time.

I think you’re amazing; you make me feel and smile and think – you’re such a great book! You deserve a better reader than me. You’re free to have other readers, I won’t hold you back. I just really need you to accept me as I am, and I am a polyamorous reader.

I still love you; It’s not you, it’s me.
