Paris For One, by JoJo Moyes

Nell is twenty-six and has never been to Paris. She has never even been on a weekend away with her boyfriend. Everyone knows she is just not the adventurous type.

But when her boyfriend doesn’t show up for their romantic mini-break, Nell has the chance to prove everyone wrong.

Alone in Paris, Nell meets the mysterious moped-riding Fabien and his group of carefree friends. Could this turn out to be the most adventurous weekend of her life?

Paris For Two was one of the two Quick Read books I picked up as part of my November library haul, enticed by the previous joy this author has given me (The Giver of Stars, Me before You). I was not dissapointed.

Firstly, it is a quick read – There really isn’t that much to review. It’s 96 pages describing a girl whose boyfriend stands her up in Paris and what she gets up to. It sounds straighforward enough, but I really enjoyed it. It was a fun read about being more spontaneous and being a little adventurous – the perfect companion to a nice hot drink, a candle and a cosy bed. I can happily recommend this book to anyone looking for a feel-good hour of book-ish joy 🙂
