A Book Club is always a good way to bond with those people who share your love of books, but occasionally the group needs a little prompting on discussion topics to get the conversation flowing. Please find below a few ideas to get things started.

- What were you expecting from the book to start with? Did the book meet your expectations? If not, what was different?
- Who did you inititally think the victim was going to be?
- Based on your suspected victim, who were you expecting the murderer to be? What made you suspect them?
- How did you feel about the reveal at the end?
- Are there any happy couples in this book? Who are they, and why do they work
- Did you find one of the characters more appealing than the others? What made you enjoy them more?
- Which secret was the biggest surprise to you? Were there any that you saw coming?
- How did you feel about the ending? Did you still have any questions that you felt weren’t answered?
- What did you think about the friendship between the school friends? Is it a healthy dynamic for everyone, anyone or no’one?
- Would you like to have your wedding on the island? Does the setting appeal to you? Would you like to live there?
- How did you feel about the murderer and their actions?
- If you could introduce a character from a different book into this setting, who would it be? Would they shake things up or smooth them out?
- The blurb says ‘thirteen guests, one body’ – do you think the number of guests was chosen on purpose for unlucky number thirteen?
- Have you read any other Lucy Foley books? How does this one compare?
